5 months!

Our little Man is 5 months old. Can you believe it? I once again cannot believe how fast time is going...
Ethan is getting to be such a wonderful little boy. For the most part he is an easy little guy. Really only cries when he is hungry or tired. As soon as he's swaddled, he knows its bed time and snuggles into his blanket and falls asleep. He still refuses to nurse sometimes... mostly in the afternoons, when he wants his food NOW. While up in Calgary he met all of his relatives for the first time, even his 93 year old great grandpa.
We just love this little guy so much and have had a fun time watching him grow... Its going too fast though!
Here is what he is doing these days:
  • Still drools like crazy
  • found his hands... he has started chewing on his knuckles
  • doing much better at holding his BIG 92% head up
  • loves to hold his fingers in a point (as you can see in some of the photos)
  • likes to cross his legs at the ankles
  • loves being tossed in the air... he giggles like crazy
  • rolled over for the first time in Calgary
  • from 2.5 months to 4 months Ethan was sleeping through the night... but after his 6 month birthday he got a little cold and started waking up hungry once a night... and then we went home... and oh my! He started getting up 3-4 times a night. What the heck!!! Not only that, but he was literally nursing me out of house and home during the day!
  • fits in size 3 diapers
  • grabs toys and brings them to his mouth
  • still loves bath time
  • loves to snuggle into your chest
  • took his first plane ride and did awesome
  • still loves to be swaddled
  • this month he totally lost all of his hair and now its growing back faster... still the same color
  • is very interested in his big sister. he watches Isabella very intently when she is around
  • likes playing on his play mat
  • takes a good morning nap and afternoon nap
  • goes to the nursery like a big boy for Bible study on tuesdays and church on sundays
  • you can always tell when Ethan is tired because he either rubs his eyes or rubs his nose into your shoulder

Ethan meets the Smith's

While we were home Ethan had the chance to meet the Smith Clan.
The first Great Grandson! Way to go Ethan.
We had an enjoyable dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Smith and Carolyn and Jamie, who were excited to meet our little man.

As well as a visit from Gordon, Claudia and Jarod!

Thanks so much for spending time with us! I am so glad that Ethan was able to meet all of you. Look forward to seeing you all at Christmas!

Blogging Marathon

During the kids' nap today I have been crazy busy blogging away!
I have updated a few posts from our trip to Calgary... but I still have a lot to go.
So scroll on down and check out or time in Calgary (and Auntie Liz's visit in June).

Sorry, if we missed you while we were in Calgary this time...
We'll catch you at Christmas!

Visiting with Relatives in Calgary

While we were home one of Isabella's favorite things to say was GG Baba, who is my mom's mom. GG Baba loved meeting Ethan and seeing Bella again. Our children are so lucky that they have 6 living great grandparents who love them to pieces.
Ethan meets Gruncle!
We also went over to my Aunts (Granty to the kids) house for ribs one night. Mmmmm Ribs!

The Next Generation!

My old group of badminton buddies is starting the next generation...
There were 6 of us in our year group and out of the original six, there are now 7 babies with one on the way! Crazy.
We had a mommy and baby play date one morning with Stacey & baby Colton and Katherine & William. It was so great to catch up and chat with old buddies. As time goes by, it will be so much fun to hang out with all of them and watch our children grow up together. Thanks for the fun morning Katherine and Stacey. See you at Christmas!

Cabin Time!

We headed up to my parents cabin for 5 days over the long weekend (July 1st... Canada Day = equivalent to the 4th of July). My friends Katherine, John and their son William came of the weekend. The weather was horrible while we were there, but it was so nice to just relax and hang out. Isabella and William had a blast in the hot tub, we ate good food, had some good chats and we did manage to get one afternoon at the beach. All in all it was a great way to spend the weekend.
Here are some of the pics to document our weekend:
