Major Shaub!

Ben pinned on Major at the beginning of August along with his buddy Dennis.
The boys had their promotion ceremony together. It was a great experience. Lots of people turned out to support Ben and Dennis (or just have a little break from work and enjoy the cake! Ha). Their commander Col. Graze performed the ceremony and kept things light and funny. And didn't mind all of our crazy kids running around!

I am so proud of Ben for the WAY he works. With the highest dedication, honor and integrity to those he serves... people, his country and most importantly the Lord.
Way to go Major Shaub!

Visiting the Grandmas!

While we were in D.C. Ben and I went up to PA to visit with his wonderful Grandma's. He hadn't seen  his Grammy Shaub in over three years. It was so nice spending the afternoon with her. She prepared a wonderful spread for lunch and we chatted and looked through old photo albums.

We also saw Grandma Mary again and had a lovely visit.
Don't Ben's Grandma's look amazing for 96 and 88!

Week With Ben

Normally this doesn't happen... So when Ben informed me that he would be heading to D.C. on a week mission in the middle of his deployment, we jumped on the opportunity to see each other. I left Bella and Ethan with Ann, Steve and Liz back in Billings and Emalina and I flew out to D.C. to see him.
We spent 5 wonderful days together touring the city, eating great food and spending time in our favorite Old Town Alexandria.
It was SO good to see Ben. And I must say it was a lot harder to say goodbye this time. I had to hold myself together!! We both felt really blessed to spend sometime together while Ben was 'deployed'!

Seeing the sights in D.C.

Air & Space Museum... Ben's pick!
Lunch out!
Mt. vernon: George Washington's home

We had some great walks and food on the National Harbor's boardwalk.
