It's been SO HOT here lately (over 100), so we thought a trip to the pool would be a good idea! Daddy and Dan took Isabella in the pool on base for the first time today. Once Bella girl got used to the water, she seemed to like it for a little. She looked to cute in her little swim outfit and sun hat. I think she's going to be a water baby!

How many men does it take to dress a baby???
This is one of my favorite outfits on Isabella. It's a newborn size, but she seems to have some more wear out of it!
This morning we were getting ready for Church... and I was running late (it's amazing how a small child can take up so much time getting ready to go anywhere...)! So Ben and Uncle Dan were on duty to change and dress Isabella. I was in the other room and could hear Ben & Dan trying to dress her over the baby monitor. It was quite humorus listening to the two of them trying to get it all right!
When we all got in the car, I was looking at her outfit and something didn't look quite right... and then I realied that her onzie was on backwards! Snaps and tag hanging out the front of her outfit for all to see! It was so cute!

Things Coming & Going...
A few days ago Isabella started smiling. It still takes a lot of effort to get her grinning... But I just love her little smile.
The first time she smiled back at me, it was as if she didn't know what was happening to her face and a HUGE frown followed her grin. It was so cute!

Going... Is her hair!
We were hoping that our sweet girl wouldn't lose her precious hair! But over the past week we have been finding little titty bitty hairs all over the place! Other then a little skunks patch at the top of her head, she is balding! We really hope that Isabella's hair starts replenishing itself before it all falls out!!!
The other day Ben was sitting outside with Isabella and he called me over all panicked and ask "what is all this hair growing on her face?" I guess some of her hair had fallen out and was stuck on her cheeks. Ben thought that she was growing really long hair on her face!!! He was very relieved when I pulled all the little strands off!
We are glad however, that she IS losing all the hair she had growing all over her body when she was born. I guess it just looked worse then most babies because her hair is so dark... But she really was a hairy baby (see below). All the hair on her shoulders and back is now gone, and even her little sideburns are disappearing!!! Which, we are very happy about!

Thank you cards!
These are the cards I made for all the ladies who attended Isabella's baby shower. I think they are super cute!
The Shrinking Teddy Bear!
I saw this neat idea online to compare your child's growth over the first year (because they grow SO fast) by taking a picture beside a teddy bear each month. Of course... I should have taken her newborn picture the day she got home from the hospital, however, I didn't take the first picture of Isabella until she was a month old (which I am mad at myself for)!!! But it will still be fun to see over this next year how much our sweet girl grows.
And if the last 5 weeks are any indication of how fast she will grow... she'll be a chunker in no time!!!

Isabella's First Play Date!
This afternoon my friend Mandi from across the street came over with her daughter Madi. Madi is 2 months older than miss Bella girl (but not that much bigger)! We had a great time chatting all afternoon, while the girls slept, ate, and played on the floor together. It was nice to have some adult talk time during the day!
Isabella is a MONTH old!!!!
I cannot believe that a whole month has gone by since our sweet girl was born. The time flew by so fast. We have enjoyed ever minute with Isabella over this past month. She is such a blessing in our lives. Some of my favorite moments:
- The first moment when Isabella was born... Finding our she was a girl and falling inlove with her for the first time!
- Trying to wake Isabella up in the middle of the night... she makes the cutest noises and faces.
- Watching Isabella with her Daddy... It is so amazing to see the love Ben has for our daughter. I can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice when he is with her. It makes me so excited about the future watching her grow up with a doating Daddy!
- When Isabella falls asleep and start to dream (do babies dream? I don't know) she smiles and has the cutest dimple on her left cheek. Last week it was like she was laughing at something... It was so cute. As for a real smile while she is awake... We're working on it!
- Having all the grandparents meet Isabella. We are so blessed with wonderful familes, who we both get along with.
- Receiving all the PINK clothes, blankets and accessories for our baby girl!
Here are some pics of our happy family from the month!

Grammy & Pop Shaub
Last week we had Ben's parents come to visit and meet Isabella for the first time. We had a wonderful visit with Grammy Ann who was here for 8 days. We covered a lot of territory with her, starting with a trip up to OKC to pick her up, then down to Wichita Falls and even a trip to Meers. Good thing Isabella loves being in her car seat!!!
It was great to have more help around the house while Ann was here. It was so nice knowing that our daughter was well taken care of while I caught a quick nap, drove to the grocery store or sunk away with Ben for a few moments. She baked some very delicious treats (upon Ben's request, considering I'm not a baker!). You made Ben's tummy happy for the week, although he did wonder why he had gained a few pounds since a few weeks ago! We only have two more whoopee pies left in the freezer and I don't think they will last much longer!
Ann thank you so much for spending the week with all 3 of us. You are a blessing in our lives... and I know that Isabella loved meeting you and spending time with you. She misses you holding her, giving her baths, changing her diaper, taking her for walks and your hugs and kisses.
Steve came down for the weekend... There is just something about Grandfathers and little granddaughters! Like Grandpa Don, Steve was smitten with Isabella. It was so nice to see.
We look forward to spending more time with both of you.
We love you!
Here are some pictures of our time together!

Our Sweet Girl!
The flash from the camera was too strong on these pictures, but I thought they were just too cute!

Grandma Susie & Grandpa Don
Today was a BIG day. Isabella and I drove my parents up to Lawton all by ourselves, so Grandma Susie and Grandpa Don could head back to Calgary. It was a tearful goodbye on all of our parts (except for little Missy, who slept the whole time). I didn't think it would be so hard to say goodbye to my parents, but when the time came I couldn't get a single word out... all I did was cry!
I guess there is something about having your Mom around during times like this. Grandma Susie has been here since 4 days before Isabella was born. I can't really explain how great it was to have her here during the last two weeks especially with recovering from our rough delivery. She was a Godsend and took on almost all of the household duties over the last two weeks.
Grandma Susie was Isabella's personal diaper changer... which was a full time job in itself, as our little missy poops at least 12 times a day.
Thanks Mom for all the work you did while you were here... all the meals, cleaning, taking care of Isabella while I slept, burping, changing and feeding. I could not have done it without you!
It is so nice to see the love that both of my parents have for our daughter. They loved every minute they spent with her... even watching her sleep! I am so blessed to have parents who are so loving and supportive to our little family. Thank you Grandma Susie and Grandpa Don for coming out to our little life here in Altus and spending the time with our new family of three. I know that Isabella will grow to love and cherish you both. We look forward to spending more time with both of you!
Thank you & We Love You!
2 Week Appointment
My mom and I took miss Isabella to the doctor's today for her 2 week appointment. Our little muffin has gained a whole pound and grown an inch and a half since we came home from the hospital. No one could believe that she is on breast milk alone and growing so well. She definitely likes her food!
She is in the 50th% for height, length and head circumference. So she's our average baby... Although the doctor said that the average baby at this stage of life cries between 2-3 hours a day! However, our Isabella maybe cries all of 10 minutes TOTAL a day. She doesn't like a messy diaper, so when she gets fussy (and we don't hear our gassy girl explode in her pants... which isn't too often) we know she wants to be changed! Other then that, she's our happy girl!
