This picture shows off my great tan... I mean burn! Which is quite ironic... considering all day long all that Ben heard was... "I have to make sure I put lots of sun screen on, because I really don't want to burn". I truly did re-apply three times! And where did we go right after the beach... we went to Target and bought new sunscreen!!!!!

A little funny story... As we were driving into Kona, I did think to my self... Wow its really quiet in here, the kids are having a good sleep!!!! And then I snapped out of it and remembered the kids were back at home and it was just Ben and I in the Jeep!!! LOL, too funny!

Hello Mommy... Hello Baby!

As you will see this baby has all of a sudden made a very noticeable appearance. I definitely feel pregnant now. My uterus is still and inch below my belly button, but it feels like everything is being pushed upwards in my belly. And I did manage to gain 8 lbs from my last appointment. Yikes. Starting to rethink... baby just might be a boy!!! 

I was going to move all the shoes and tidy up before this picture was taken... and then Ben said, "that is just what happens when you have two kids, leave them!" And he sure is right... Messes are a normal occurrence at the Shaub household!
14 weeks Pregnant

 17 weeks and 2 days

Last Friday night as I was laying in bed, baby decided to start kicking. It was so strong that I could actually feel him/her on the outside of my belly. Up until that point, I had just felt the 'is that the baby' flutters in my belly. I love being able to feel the baby move... and it sure is reassuring! 

Up until this point I haven't had to bust out the maternity clothes, but I did get out my favorite maternity jeans today to wear on our trip. There is nothing more uncomfortable then wearing a pair of jeans that just fit and then having to sit in them for a whole day of traveling. 

For those of you who don't already know... Ben and I are off to Hawaii ALL BY OURSELVES for 8 days! We will miss the kids, but we know they are is great hand with MiMi and Grandma. 

Thanks so much Ann and Mom for staying with Bella and Ethan while we are away. It is much appreciated! We love you! 

SIDE NOTE: Mom and Ann, please don't spoil our kids too much while we are gone... Please remember all the 'rules'... I know your conscience will help you out with that when you are saying "Natalie won't know" to each other... LOL!

 When we get home, we want to keep Grandma detox to a minimum!

Ryan's Fini Flight

There is a tradition in the Air Force when a pilot moves from a base and or goes to fly a different plane called the Fini Flight... After the sortie is complete the pilot leaving, typically gets marshaled in by a family member (usually the kids) and gets hosed down by fellow peers and or children. 

It was that time for Ryan! Ryan and Leah have been good friends of ours since we PCSed here in 2007. 

Ben was able to fly with Ryan on his fini flight, and although both a little rusty at times, they had a great and momentous flight together. Ryan and Leah are headed to Colorado Springs this week and both will be flying different jets. So this could potentially be Ryan's final flight in the KC-135. 

Way to go Ryan... Thanks for being such a great friend and co-worker to Ben. We will miss you!

MiMi & Grampy's Visit

Mimi & Grampy are in town for a  little. They haven't seen the kids in a while... So they were very surprised at how different they both have become. Especially Ethan... Crawling, talking and his cute little personality. We have gone on a few adventures since they have been here. To Atwoods to see the baby chicks! 

 Out to the flight line to watch Daddy and Ryan fly their plane...

Steve and Ann headed down to Fredricksburg for a few days and will be back on Tuesday. Thanks for coming to visit Mimi & Grampy. Can't wait to see you on Tuesday!

Action Packed Weekend

We had a busy busy weekend. 

On Saturday we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head up to Quartz MOuntain in the morning. The kids both fell asleep on the 20 minute drive on the way up, so we detoured and went an extra 45 minutes so they both would get a little zzzz's.

So by the time we actually started hiking it was almost noon. Good thing I brought along plenty of snacks for the kids, because they were hungry! We stopped about 3/4 up the way of the mountain for the kids to eat. Ben carried Ethan in the hiking pac for most of the way and Bella walked except for when we went straight up the mountain, I took Ethan in the Bjorn and Ben carried Bella. They were great little hikers. Bella really held her own and LOVED hiking!

 On Sunday, we went to the carnival in town with our new friends Danielle and Hayden. Bella and Hayden have become great buddies, just like Hayden's mommy and I. She is such a precious woman. It was SO SO SO HOT... like 98*, but the kids managed to have a great time on the cars and the carrousel.

Then after the carnival we headed back to church for a very special event: 

Danielle's Baptism! A new Christian, Danielle is so eager to please and sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. She wanted to make a public profession of faith and follow in Believer's Baptism. It is so exciting to be apart of Danielle's walk with the Lord and HER STORY. These are moments she (nor I) will ever forget. 

Way to go Danielle, we are so proud of you.

 In the 'pool' as Hayden and Bella called it. They were both very intrigued with what she was doing. 

 We celebrated after with pizza and cake at Pizza Hut.

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come"

I am so thankful this expression of faith is so life changing. A symbolization of our old self and sins being washed away and new person being lifted out of the water. A commitment and personal realization that the blood of Jesus Christ can be so life changing and life giving. 

I will never forget my baptism on April 14, 2002 and the people who were there to celebrate with me. I am still thankful to this day!

BIG NEWS!

In the past three weeks, Ethan has gone from only being able to sit if we put him in the sitting position.... to being able to sit up on his own in his crib. I went into his room in the middle of the night and he was just sitting there. It shocked me a little. But I was so proud of him, I picked him right up. 

Then he started to pull up to his knees in his crib (holding on to his rail)... Is this not the cutest face you have ever seen????

This past week on Tuesday... Ethan decided it was time to take a few crawls.
WAY TO GO ETHAN! We are so proud of him! 

We went to the park on Friday... it was such a nice day. I captured this little video of Ethy going down the slide...
